Pile
Extraction

What we do &

How we do it

When piles are used as a temporary means of earthwork support they can be extracted for re-use. This can be achieved by either using Silent or Vibratory equipment.

Care must be taken to make sure that there is adequate access for the extraction plant, including any craneage required to handle the equipment and piles. This can often be overlooked when planning a contract and could lead to the expected pile credits not being realised.

It is also important that nothing is cast against the piles unless a bond breaker is used. We would recommend, as a minimum, two layers of polythene and a compressible material such as flexcell be used where concrete is cast against the sheet piles.
